FOH Flash November 2015

Wow – a lot is happening!  God is good and is getting it done!

The Counseling Center has taken off and is doing well.  If you or someone you know has been sidetracked with drug or alcohol addiction but are ready for a changed life, come let our trained counselors help get you there.  You can receive counseling at the FOH counseling offices located at Vinton Baptist Church, or the counseling team will meet you at a place closer to your home.  The FOH Counseling Center is certified by the state of Ohio and is able to take Medicaid payments.  Are you “sick and tired of being sick and tired?”  It is time for a changed life!  .

Jim Craft is working with Pastor Heath, Tom Treleaven and others on the Food Pantry team to begin work on the large Food Pantry food room at the FOH, the former FFA building.  That large room with a rollup door is able to receive bulk shipments of food and will have the ability to store pallet quantities when the room is completed.  Thank you American Electric Power Foundation for a generous gift to help build the Food Pantry.  Stay tuned for details of that – the grant is to be awarded early next year.  The FP team will be looking for volunteers to help build out their rooms.  This is exciting stuff!  Now that the roof is in place, building can begin.  The Gallipolis Rotary has donated building material to begin building out the Food Pantry rooms – thank you Gallipolis Rotary!  Loralee Carmichael and Kevin Dennis, FOH Board members, are also active Rotarians.

An exciting announcement is just around the corner!  The FOH is close to receiving funding that will allow construction of the first women’s Recovery Housing unit.  It will be a 16 person residence for women seeking healing from and victory over substance abuse.  There is hope, and Jesus Christ is the author of it!  He is our higher power – the one Who created us and knows us better than we know ourselves!  Substance abuse and the terrible price it extracts from peoples’ lives has had the upper hand for many in our area for way too long.  Let’s take our loved ones back.  Let’s take our community back.  Let’s give a great life to those who are in the darkness and despair of drug addiction.  Let’s trust together in the One who can get that job done!!

The FOH is funded by our community team members with a heart for winning our area back!  Businesses, churches, individuals, community groups – it is the battle to win for all of us!  Thanks for generous donations from the mission groups at Gallipolis Christian and the First Church of God.  Check out the new construction – the FOH building is looking good!  Praise be to God for all that He does!
